He has the TSP to run, and a woman to protect…
Police Chief Elliot Marshall had lost almost his entire family when they’d been murdered ten years ago. Now he is back in Finley Creek, searching for the killers. He won’t stop until he has the answers–and the killers behind bars where they belong.
When the threat gets far too close to Gabby, Elliot makes a vow. He isn’t about to let anyone hurt the woman who had been his murdered sister’s best friend. The only place she feels safe is next to him. But the price of that safety may be someone else close to her. Close to him.
And one thing is clear: they can’t lose someone else they love like that ever again…

Ervin –
It’s the tale of two young mid twenties women, very smart, who solve part of a 30 year old crime. And the two men that fall hard but take their time realizing it.
Anh –
the first in the Marshal Murders trilogy. It is well-written, with constant tension and action, twists and turns. The characters are well-crafted from Gabby still in fear for her life, Brynna with her autism, and the two Marshall brothers still unable to find resolution. Melody, Jillian, Syd, Carrie, and others add to the puzzle pieces.
Brookes gets you hooked in the first one and you want to know how the rest of pieces come together on the unsolved murder of ther rest of the Marshall brothers’ family.
BROWN LADY –
The story was great. What I liked was that this so called disorder was handled by making the heroine actually confront her fears. Getting her back to the circumstances of her fears and getting her through this time. As this is the only way life should be tackled.

DEO RE –
Gabby works at the Texas state police as a forensic computer specialist. She witnessed the murder of her best friend and most of the family ten years ago while on her computer video chat and recorded the event and now suffers from PTSD. Her friend and colleague Brynna is equally brilliant with computers but is autistic. Gabby and several other families are intertwined with the family that was murdered. The new police chief is the older brother of her murdered friend. A complex storyline with multiple characters but is worth reading.

Gabby is a very unique heroine but still a heroine
all the same no matter how unusual. Elliot is the hero we all know and you wonder at first how he and Gabby can get together but the murder of is parents, his brother and his little sister who was Gabby’s best friend and Gabby saw her getting murdered as they both had been on their computers and Gabby saw Sara being murdered over the web cam.
